Health testing & screening
Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.All my dogs are vet checked for structural soundness, Any that do not pass are not bred with and are desexed.
There is currently not a real DNA test available for our breed that would be considered useful.
Preparation & socialisation
Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.The pups are brought up in my home are socialised with visitors my other dogs and cats but not before an age that is suitable to ensure happy well adjusted puppies
Placement & matching
Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.as above
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.all pets go with desexing agreements. I pay an agreed amount to the vet the day the dog goes in for castrastion.
I spend quite sometime with prospective purchasers to ensure that they are the right fit for one of my dogs and my dogs are right fit for them. If I have any concerns the pups do not go to that home
Ongoing support
Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.I consider breeding a pup a life long commitment. I offer support for the life of the dog. I also offer to have the dogs stay with me while owners go on holidays so they dont have to go into kennel situations
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.I have not had that problem but definately would if need be
