Health testing & screening
Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.All breeding age dogs are hip and elbow X-rayed, have their eyes tested, heart checked and are DNA tested before breeding.
In the case of DNA testing, dogs with Carrier status are only mated to DNA tested mates with a CLEAR status.
Preparation & socialisation
Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.Puppies are exposed to my grandchildren from 24 hours old, they are also given different environments and surfaces to explore in a safe and welcoming way.
Puppy visits can commence from 4 weeks of age and they grow up with the sounds of cars, music and many other stimuli
Placement & matching
Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.I personally match the puppies personality to the person, taking into account the new owners age, family situation, environment etc.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.A buyer questionnaire is provide too the potential new owner upon initial contact.
Preferences are taken into account when selecting a puppy.
Phone interviews are conducted and the new owner is invited to come to an open day. If that’s not possible, a Zoom meeting can be arranged.
Ongoing support
Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.The new owners become part of the Snofyre Family and have get together in different states. I have a Facebook group for owners to commune and share photos.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.
