Dolly became a mother twice over, before her first birthday! Rescued with her second litter of kittens, Dolly was in poor shape. She immediately stopped parenting her kittens and went into self survival mode when she realised we would take over those duties. Dolly had a period of aggression with both humans and other cats, however this may have been caused by Dolly withdrawing from a substance she'd been routinely exposed to prior to rescue - since then she has had no displays of aggression. Dolly is quite happy to be an ornament. She has "Dolly Spots" and those are her special places - she's not a fan of other cats encroaching on these. She doesn't mind a head rub but is not a cuddly cat. She likes closeness in the sense of being within your proximity, rather than being touched. Dolly lived her entire life prior to rescue as an outside cat and whilst she has settled into indoor life amazingly, her prey drive and desire to kill things for fun is thriving. That goes to say Dolly would not be suitable in a home with birds, fish, cavvies, etc. it also means Dolly has fairly high stimulation needs. She loves toys with squeakers, small/light toys she can throw around, toys she can kick etc. she does love to play and will actively engage with you if you've got a toy on a string however, that prey drive is really strong so watch your fingers. As goes for most starving mother cats, her food drive is immense. She eats food SO quickly and will resource guard, so we feed her completely alone and in a few goes, rather than all at once. This behaviour would likely ease if she was in a 1x cat household. She's been through more in her two years on earth than many see in a lifetime. She needs someone patient, kind and understanding who can look past her trauma responses and see the beautiful girl she is.
