I am a small breeder of quality, healthy Staffords with sound temperaments from proven blood lines . All my dogs are DNA tested for all testable breed specific hereditary condition, and I only breed from clear dogs . All puppies are born and raised in my lounge room, never in a kennel, and are exposed to everyday noises right from the start. My puppies' quality of life is of utmost importance to me, so they only go to carefully selected homes.

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? Do you have sensible, sustainable breeding strategies in place to promote the health of your dogs and puppies?

I do a complete breed profile for every dog with Orivet and supply results of parents DNA testing with every puppy. I only breed from dogs that are clear of any hereditary issue. I also will not breed from any dog with a known background of allergies

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?

Yes

My puppies are born and raised inside my lounge room, so from birth become familiar with all common household noises and activities. They are handled several times a day. Once old enough , provided the weather is suitable , they spend some time each day in a large puppy pen on the lawn with frequently changed toys of all sorts , and they will also meet, with care, my other dogs from the safety of their puppy panels . Visitors are not allowed to handle puppies until after their first vaccinations at 6 weeks

In our state all puppies not owned by registered breeders , must be desexed by 6 months of age, that is the law. I have an extensive conversation with all applicants about my expectations for my puppies, the fact that no puppy , (unless co owned with me and contract in place -rarely happens) , is sold for breeding , I look for pet homes first and foremost . I am available to my puppy buyers 24/7 for the life of their dog , will rehome the dog should that need ever arise, so no puppy of mine ever ends up in a pound. Each of My pups comes with a detailed individual vet clearance .

Question. Is ensuring that your puppies go to the right home a high priority? What type of measures do you take to ensure your dogs and puppies are going to go to loving homes?

Please see above. I vet every single applicant to the umpteenth degree, and am not afraid to return their deposit if I find out they have lied to me . I also stay in contact with everyone after the puppy goes to his new home
