Sollerus Rottweilers - Rottweiler Breeder - Adelaide, SA

Rottweiler Dog Breeder - Hope Forest, SA

Sollerus Rottweilers is a small kennel located on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia.

Until 2006 we had competed primarily in obedience and agility, but when Jo purchased her first show dog, a German Pinscher (Ch Firedragon Empyrean King CCD JD ET), we expanded our horizons into the world of conformation.

In 2009 we purchased a Rottweiler, and it was love!

We have remained active in competitive obedience and conformation, with Jo having shown many dogs to their Australian Championship and obedience titles.

In 2012 Jo commenced breeding under a partnership prefix . Then, in 2016 Jamie and Jo received ANKC approval for the Sollerus prefix, now planning towards their future of breeding, conformation and obedience with their dogs.

We not only aim to breed for type and soundness, but well balanced temperament and strength of character, which the Rottweiler is recognized for.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.Yes We complete all the mandatory ANKC testing on all our breeding animals, meaning we have hip & elbow x-rayed and scored, eye and dental certification and although not compulsory we also JLPP test our dogs.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.By raising our puppies in our home, as a result, they are exposed to all the noises associated with normal household living. Once vaccinated, families are welcome to come and socialise with puppies.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.It's not first in first served, it's about trying to match the nature of our puppies with the needs of their family. We like to ask about previous history with animals. We do not sell to anyone who we think is not suitable from our phone calls and emails.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.We have a questionnaire for our prospective puppy families, and love to meet local families or phone call with interstate families. All new owners are provided with a copy of our sales agreement, Limited Registration ANKC pedigree (not for breeding or showing), microchip registration and folder of information regarding owning and raising their puppy/dog.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.We are always available to help our families and are only ever a phone call or email away.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.If a family is unable to keep their puppy/dog, he/she is to be returned to us, not matter what age.
