ODDSKI & MATGO French Bulldogs Adelaide, SA

French Bulldog Dog Breeder - SA

At ODDSKI & MATGO kennels we strive to produce healthy French Bulldogs both in physical & temperament. We continue to improve the standard so the breed has a bright and long lasting future. We only breed to the ANKC French Bulldog standard.

French Bulldogs are the dogs we breed, the dogs we love and the dogs we devote our lives too. Our interest in French Bulldogs is not solely about showing and breeding but also about the history and the development/preservation of the breed.

We have been exhibiting our Frenchies for just over 12 years. We have accomplishing Australian Championship titles with a number of best in groups, best in show, best of breeds and challenges. We are a very small kennel based in Adelaide who strives to produce some beautiful dogs.

We are members of the French Bulldog Club of QLD and also members of the French Bulldog Club of SA.

Our puppies are vaccinated, micro-chipped, regularly wormed, and come with a puppy pack which includes a booklet for all post-care of the puppy. Parents are DNA and health tested prior to breeding in all cases and certificates/results will be provided.

Our puppies are sold as pets only and will be sold only on LIMITED register with Dogs SA/ANKC pedigree papers. We do all current health testing in conjunction with the clubs code of ethics for FBCQLD & FBCSA, which includes the following:

~ Full Breed DNA Profile
~ 8 week X-ray on spines and hips for any glaring abnormalities
~ General health examination before leaving for furever homes

B U Y E R W A R N I N G: Due to the increasing popularity of the French Bulldog, more inexperienced newcomers are breeding puppies for profit only. Avoid making a bad decision! An ethical, responsible breeder breeds to improve the health of the French Bulldog, not just to create a "product" for sale. They know their dogs, study pedigrees, and health test their dogs before planning a litter. Ideally, there should be Champions listed in your puppy's pedigree. They are involved in breed club activities and health schemes and compete in the show ring with their dogs. Most will have a waiting list, so be prepared to wait for your new puppy.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.Currently our strategy aligns with the FBCQLD which requires us to have all breeding dogs DNA tested (full breed profile) plus have puppies spines and hips xrayed at 8 weeks old for any glaring abnormalities and then at 12 months of age have them again xrayed for scoring through Dr Makara in Sydney.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.Puppies are well socialised with our other dogs as well with having other people being introduced to them of a young age. Playing different real life sounds so they are used to this before they leave home. Also different surfaces eg. grass, concrete, rocks, sand and so forth.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.We go through a very extensive process of people calling or messaging us. From here they fill out our questionnaire and after that face to face meeting is organised and further contact is made after this appointment.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.All puppies are sold with a strict contract written by our solicitor.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.We advise all puppy buyers that we want to be included in the puppy's life for the good and the bad. We are always available to support!!!
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.A condition of sale is that we be contacted first should the owner need to rehome their dog for whatever reason.
