Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.My dogs are all xrayed by Noah’s crossing vet at 12 months of age under the Australian National breed improvement scheme for German Shepherds. We also screen our Labradors in the same way and our Prefered reader is Dr Roger Lavelle Vic

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.We have 2 breeds of dogs at home and we also travel to our breed club ( German Shepherd dog Club of SA ) twice a week for show and Obedience trading. Our puppies accompany us there and have segregated area especially for puppy socialising on the grounds.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.With the German Shepherd breed it is EXTREMELY important to screen for - prior large dog or breed experience, lifestyle suitability eg commitment to on going training, a persons age and physical fitness. We ask for photos of homes/yard/shelter area.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.We have a 12 month written contract Our puppies have a written Health check at 7 weeks of age and a fit to fly certificate We recommended de sexing at 12 months of age and all information is included in a comprehensive folder. We have a personal interview before there is any deposit put down on a puppy, this is a meet and greet at our home where the buyer can meet the parent/s and meet us also.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.I am always available for 24 hour support for my babies at ANY time.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.This is written in our contract - we have exclusive right to first bring puppy/ dog home to us if the animal is no longer wanted or circumstances change.
