Graebelge is a small exclusive kennel proudly specialising in quality Belgian Shepherds with emphasis on health, construction and true Belgian temperament. Being a well established and respected breeder with over 20 years experience in the breed, we willingly share the expertise we have gained from importing, breeding, exhibiting and owning this outstanding breed with all Belgian lovers.

Graebelge Belgian Shepherds are truly versatile dogs with the ability to perform exceptionally in all competitive fields whilst being devoted and loyal companions at home. Breeding selectively enables us to research our lines meticulously and our planned matings continually strive to improve the quality of our Belgian Shepherds whilst specialising in Tervueren and Groenendael ensures that we have the intimate knowledge essential to continue to produce outstanding specimens of each variety.

Our Belgian Shepherds share our home and our lives, and give us much fun and pleasure. Graebelge Belgians incorporate the best bloodlines available in Europe and are health tested prior to breeding. Our puppies are whelped and reared lovingly in our home and extensively socialised to ensure that they develop into happy, well-adjusted adults. They are available to loving homes and are registered with the VCA, micro-chipped, vaccinated, wormed and come with life time advice and support. If we don't have a puppy available for you then we will happily refer you to other reputable breeders.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.We do hip and elbow x-rays and eye tests. We only breed with healthy dogs and strictly assess for character and health as well as maintaining a details of any health issues that occur.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.We expose our puppies from a young age to a variety of stimuli both tactile and audio as well as inviting people to come visit and socialise with our puppies.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.Discussion with prospective buyers, asking various questions to ensure people are genuine and responsible.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.We do an interview either in person or on the phone to get a feel for the buyer. Whilst I try to breed healthy dogs I don't give a guarantee as health issues sometimes crop up. My conditions of sale include a written agreement that the puppy will be looked after and returned if for any reason they can't be kept.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.I advise that I am always available for any problems that may arise.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.I'll either take them back or assist in finding a suitable. Being a reputable breeder I have many people contacting me about older dogs.
