ELLSNICK Labradors

Labrador Retriever Dog Breeder - Goulburn, NSW

Labradors have been my passion for over 25 yrs and I after several years of planning and careful consideration I have set up a breeding program to produce the best Labradors possible.

My dogs live on 30 acres of land and are a big part of our family. They have secure areas and enjoy swimming in our dam and relaxing in air conditioned space when needed.

My Labradors are all health tested and chosen for their temperaments, looks and breed specific characteristics. They are all clear of genetic diseases and are hip and elbow scored.

We love taking our dogs to shows and have been successful in the ring. We aim to produce dogs to suit families as well as show dogs.
I am located in the Goulburn area and am aiming for quality not quantity.

If you are interested in chatting to me about my dogs or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me - nichke75@gmail.com Probably email would be best as a first point of contact. I will only sell to people that I have spoken to and who I think will suit one of my dogs.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.All of my bitches are hip and elbow scored with excellent results and they are fully DNA tested for genetic diseases. They have beautiful temperaments and are excellent examples of the Labrador breed. I also complete Early Neurological Training and Early Scent Training with my puppies to prepare them the best that I can for long term health and trainability.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.My puppies are exposed to early sounds, surfaces, people and other dogs when they are old enough. I also provide them with a stimulating and enriching environment with toys, different surfaces, different people and faces to see. Music, environmental sounds and teach them to respond to my name and the people around them

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.I have my questionnaire that I get lots of information from and I send a lot of emails and ask a lot of questions to ensure that I am placing one of my puppies in an amazing home. I make sure that the buyer is aware of the Labrador breed and are committed to their training and love. I will not sell to just anyone as my puppies are very important to me and take a lot of effort to raise and nurture
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.I have my own questionnaire that I send out to potential buyers and I also like to talk to buyers over the phone where possible. I choose my puppies to suit their owners so they can have a forever home. My puppies are sold on the limited Dogs Australia register which is not for breeding or on the main register to buyers interested in showing or breeding down the track. I will only sell on the main register to approved buyers.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.I am always at the end of the phone or email for any questions as the puppies grow and encourage updates and photos of puppies as they grow. I keep in contact with a lot of my puppy families.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.If that circumstance was to arise I would do my best to assist rehoming someone's pet but my reason for finding the right families is so this does not happen. I do however understand that things can happen so I would help where I could.
