Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.All breeding animals are hip and elbow scored, have annual eye certificates, have heart certificates and full panel DNA tested. We ensure that we never cross carriers to carriers for all DNA testable conditions. We are also moving towards have all of our dogs DNA clear for PRA1/2 and Ichthyosis. We guarantee all puppies purchased are not affected by any of these DNA detectable conditions.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.Yes, we implement Puppy Culture protocols on all litters (see - https://www.shoppuppyculture.com/#a_aid=6386f81b59fd1 for more information on Puppy Culture). We ensure daily handling and mental stimulation for all our puppies including a dedicated inside and outside puppy culture play areas that they have free access to every day. This area includes toys, a swimming pool, sand pit, play gym, different surfaces such as rocks, aggregrate concrete and fresh mowed lawns, a puppy club house, wobble boards, ball pits, swings, noisy toys and soft bedding.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.We liaise multiple times with new owners and keep ongoing communications open through a private facebook group for the lifetime of the dog and beyond.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.Conditions of sale and health guarantee. We discourage desexing until our goldens reach maturity after 18 months of age due to documented increase in risk of cancers and joint issues when desexed earlier.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.Lifetime and beyond through our private facebook group that also gives all owners access to a vast array of resources on goldens, puppy raising, training and health matters.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.Of course!
