Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.I DNA test my breeding aged Dachshunds for PRA, SDMD and IVDD backscore. My results are published in the National Dachshund Council website.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.My puppies are housed raised, and are exposed to daily household noises. The auto vacuum, dishes in the sink or hitting the counter tops. They are interacted with, and have a variety of toys which make different sounds and movement and kept in a clean environment.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.I view my puppies buyers to be an extended member of my family. I feel that personalities of the buyer/s and seller must be compatible to ensure a smooth transaction and for myself to be available in the future for ongoing support. I will ask difficult questions if I feel that it is needed, that maybe of a personal nature. I am tactful about it. :)
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.Terms of sale is available to view on my website. www.aashudna.net.au If you are interested in my future puppies please complete my questionnaire online www.aashudna.net.au/puppyform

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.I encourage buyers to have a relationship that they deem acceptable, where they feel comfortable to discuss any concerns or difficulties they're maybe experiencing.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.Peoples situations change, we understand this. I would make every reasonable effort in: 1. Taking the dog back. 2. Aid in finding a suitable home.
