Consultations
The clinic owner Dr Ann Luke undertakes all consultations. A history is taken, which includes any major illness as well as the duration and extent of the current problem. A thorough clinical examination is then conducted and appropriate medication prescribed. At times, further testing is undertaken which may include blood tests, radiology and ultrasound.
Desexing (Castrations and Speys)
Both dogs and cats are neutered at the clinic under general anasthesia and receive painkilling injections (analgesia). The animals are admitted in the morning (between 8:30am and 9:00am) with the owner withholding food and water from at least midnight the night before. Owners are required to complete a questionnaire which lists any known allergies, illness and previous problems with anaesthetics. After admittance, all animals are examined for general health, and specifically to assess anaesthetic risks. Animals are discharged after 4pm unless prior arrangements are made.
