ACT Pet Crisis Support started in March 2019 due to the work of Dr Eloise Bright a local Canberra veterinarian who was devastated at the need to euthanase beloved pets simply due ot lack of money. Since then the charity has assisted just under 300 pets in the local region who would have otherwise been surrendered, euthanased or left to suffer without financial assistance. Pet owners can visit any vet, who can apply on behalf of a pet owner who has no other way to pay for veterinary care. In 2022 ACT Pet Crisis is working towards setting up a mobile veterinary clinic to further support busy vets who are chronically under-resourced and struggling to meet the increase demand for veterinary services.
