Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.We do all that is required plus more for this wonderful breed and do not let people try to breed from our dogs without doing right testings for the breed. We do on all our dogs and would only breed if tests were good enough. Hips, Elbows, Heart and yearly eye tests and the fundamentals of a full breed DNA profile for genetic diagnosis of vulnerabilities to inherited diseases.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.We have our puppies used to loud noises, normal home life, and of course when puppy people come for visits once pups are 6 weeks old, and each week until 8 weeks.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.Lots of conversations with propective owners, still talking and meeting when people come to visit. Check lists of what they need to get for puppy, bedding, grooming tools, bathing, where puppy will be living, Google, 40 year puppy manual. Advised food to get in plus puppy pack. We will also take back a dog if the owner does not want the dog anymore and find a home for him or her.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.verbal interview, and then on puppy visits. Limited Register agreement, Not for Export agreement. Looking into de-sexing agreement. more to come.
