Co-Ordinating Cat Council of Australia (CCCA)
Founded in 1980, the Co-Ordinating Cat Council of Australia (CCCA) was created to unite the Australian cat fancy into a single national body with uniform breeding and show rules. The CCCA has 7 member bodies across Australian states and the ACT.
The CCCA is a member of the World Cat Congress, connecting it to the major international cat fancies worldwide.

What the CCCA does
The CCCA brings together the state-level cat fancy councils across Australia so they all work to the same rules. In practical terms, that covers five main things.
- Standardisation of breed standards. The CCCA maintains the official standards for all pedigreed cats in Australia. This ensures that a Siamese or a Maine Coon is judged against the same criteria regardless of which member body hosts the show.
- Advocacy and animal welfare. Every CCCA member body has a code of ethics covering breeding practices, kitten rehoming ages, vaccinations, microchipping, and desexing. These standards sit above state law minimums, and breeders who join are bound by them.
- National registration and pedigrees. While the day-to-day administrative paperwork is managed by state bodies (such as NSWCFA or FCCV), the CCCA establishes the overarching policy framework. - Education and judging. The CCCA oversees the appointment of judges. This national oversight ensures that a judge’s credentials and evaluations are recognised and respected across state lines.
- National shows and events. The CCCA supports national-level shows and events, with the CCCA National Show as its flagship.

Cats Queensland Inc. is a family-oriented council with friendly shows and pleasant social occasions that all exhibitors are welcome to attend.

New South Wales — NSW Cat Fanciers’ Association Inc. (NSWCFA)
NSWCFA promotes responsible pet ownership and all members are required to adhere to State legislation when homing their cats or kittens. It is important that cats are not overbred and that kittens born be selectively placed into caring, permanent homes.

Victoria — Feline Control Council of Victoria Inc. (FCCV)
FCCV promotes the welfare of cats, the general improvement of feline standards, breeding and exhibition, and good sportsmanship among members. The council runs friendly, welcoming cat shows and holds informative sessions to educate members.

South Australia — Feline Association of South Australia Inc. (FASA)
FASA is a registering body for pedigreed cats in SA, established in 1973, and focused on promoting excellence in the care, breeding and exhibition of cats.

Cats United WA is a Perth-based cat association run by a committee of dedicated, hardworking volunteers who pride themselves on providing great service to their members, and running organised and fun cat shows.

The CCCT is a community of cat breeders who adhere to strict ethical standards for responsible cat ownership, including the proper housing, welfare, and breeding of cats.

All of our cat breeder members hold registration with a recognised cat council, meaning they follow established codes of ethics, health requirements, breeding limits, and state or territory legal obligations. Alongside this, Perfect Pets has its own onboarding and review process, with a comprehensive standards and practices questionnaire, two-step verification, and manual review of each breeder profile and listing, helping maintain consistency and transparency for pet lovers.
