We have been breeding super socialised Tonkinese kittens for a number of years. We aim to breed true to type Tonkinese - midway between a Siamese and Burmese in stature, type and temperament.
Our Tonks are family favourites, easy maintenance and a lot of personality.
We have a big soft spot for chocolate and lilac colour ways, in mink and point.

Our standards & practices
Health testing & screening
Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.All our breeding cats are DNA tested and no problems have been found.
Preparation & socialisation
Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.Our kittens are raised in our home with family members large and small and all the usual comings and goings of a big country family. We have groodles, and poultry who also enjoy entertaining the kittens. We have a senior Snowshoe cat, who enjoys being great Uncle to the kittens and if mother cat looks busy, he is quite happy to assist with grooming and washing mittens.
Placement & matching
Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.We enjoy getting to know our kittens’ new families and do our best to match a kitten to the home. We get wonderful feedback, and love keeping in touch, and treasure pics of our grown up kittens in their forever homes.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.We supply kitten information packs and six weeks complementary pet insurance with each kitten.
Should a kitten show signs of hereditary illlness, we are happy to replace it.

Ongoing support
Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.We have and will continue to do our best to support kittens and new families. Any of extended Mandira Tonkinese family will testify to this.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.Yes, we will assist as best we can.
