Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Dog Breeder - Australia
TOLLERON. Dogs NSW Registered Breeders of Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers
We have puppies on the way.
Hi, our names are Tina & David and Tollers are our passion! We would love to introduce you to the NSDTR or "Toller" as they are better known.
Although Tollers are still a fairly rare breed within Australia their popularity and demand for the breed has increased and continues to reach far & wide as more & more owners spread the word about the joys of owning a Toller! The proof is in the ever growing amount of Toller Instagram accounts & social media feedback about the breed.
This is probably due to their good looks, wonderful natures (they have a great sense of humor), very versatile abilities and medium size (they are about the size of a Boarder Collie).
We here at TOLLERON are committed to striving for excellence in every area with every Toller puppy we produce and we invest a lot of time, energy & money to ensure that the puppies we breed are the best they can possibly be & all our litters are raised from birth using the "PUPPY CULTURE" puppy raising program: ( Similar to the Guide dog puppy program), As we breed our puppies to the highest standard, our puppies and are never inbred to reduce the risk of genetic illness and all our adult breeding Tollers have been DNA tested clear, or clear by parentage, for PRA, JADD, DM, DE, CLEFT PALATE, CEA & all our Tollers are also Hip & Elbow X-Rayed and scored & all have Excellent Hip & Elbow scores for their breed. Copies of all clearances are supplied to all our puppy buyers. We also provide a puppy care kit/bag with each puppy that contains 3kg bag of Black Hawke puppy biscuits, a measuring cup, a comfort toy that smells of mum & siblings, a roll of poo bags, puppy training treats & a puppy care brochure. We also offer lifetime breeder support and 60 days of free pet insurance--because your peace of mind matters as much as your puppy's well-being.
We also implement training protocols with our puppies like Clicker training, Attention, Sit, Recall, Potty training, Noise desensitizing, Socialisation, Grooming, Nail clipping, Different surface desensitizing training to name a few, so your puppy will come with a great head start in training & be ready & easy to train. We also supply all the info you will need to continue your training journey to enable your puppy to become a great dog!
We currently have 6 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. One male our imported stud boy born in Montana USA, Trapper: "USA Imported, Champion STARGAZERS RED HOT CHILLI PEPPER" who has the most gorgeous nature & is also a stunning looking example of his breed and our beautiful 5 Toller girls that are from imported Italian Di Casa Toller lines: Bambi, Sophie, Mia, Bella & Rosa.
We are active in lots of different Dog disciplines & sports with our Tollers and have achieved high levels of success in Shows, Obedience, Agility & have been involved and loved participating in, breed showing, Rally Obedience, Flyball & Dancing with Dogs with our Tollers. & have been for over 15 years with our Tollers.
Tina is a Certified Dog behavioural trainer & Obedience Instructor of our local dog club & David is a Master Agility trainer competing at top level & running Agility training seminars & workshops so exposing & training our puppies to a variety of different situations and commands as soon as they can walk is a big part of the upbringing of every TOLLERON puppy.
About Tollers: Bred to assist Duck & other Game bird hunters by attracting & luring the birds to shore by first frolicking on the shore line enticing birds to come within easy range & then retrieve the Game in or out of the water to the Hunter. They are medium in size (about the size of a Border Collie), have a low maintenance water resistant coat that only requires a quick brush through about once a or twice a week and adjust well to multi species pet households. They also are one of the most appealing looking dog breeds around (Not that we are in any way biased here at Tolleron!)
The Toller has a great sense of humor and fun and they are smart as a whip, they have many fabulous attributes & are a fantastic breed to own but are not necessarily a good dog for someone who just wants a quiet, compliant low energy companion dog.
If you like a dog that is super affectionate, is in tune with your emotions, loves to be with you and part of everything you do, who also has tons of personality and get up and go and you are prepared to put some effort into training them to be the dog you want, then they are well worth every bit of trouble it takes to get one! They are super sensitive to their owners' emotions feelings & moods & wear their hearts on their sleeves, you are rarely in doubt about how they are feeling in the moment.
They love to be involved in any activity that engages either their minds or bodies. They are an extremely agile, intelligent breed that enjoys being active, whether it is chasing a ball in the back yard (Most Tollers just live to retrieve) or being involved in any dog related activities. Tollers are easy to train, they love to swim, compete or preform and have excelled in most of the dog related disciplines . Obedience and Agility trials, fly ball and Frisbee comps as well as making outstanding dancing with dog's competitors and trick training dogs too. In fact there really is not much that a Toller would not be willing to do for you as long you are willing to take the time to teach them, they are very fast learners but do get bored easily with a lot of repetitive training. They do respond exceptionally well to positive reinforcement training methods.
Although they can be reserved with strangers or new experiences, they are a very loving family orientated breed that does require attention so don't consider adopting a Toller if you don't feel that you would have the time and energy to interact with them closely on a daily basis.
All our Tollers have been extensively health tested & are DNA tested clear or are DNA tested clear by parentage for PRA. CEA. DM. CLP. JADD. DE. & have been Hip & Elbow screened with copies of all their clearances supplied with every puppy we sell.
We will be expecting puppies soon. Please feel free to contact us for more detailed information on our upcoming litters.
