Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.All of our breeding cats undergo genetic testing. We use the standard British Shorthair Genetic Test Bundle provided by Orivet. This panel includes testing for PKD and ALPS, two inherited diseases commonly screened for in British Shorthairs. In addition, each kitten receives a general health examination at around 3 months of age before going to its new home. During this examination, our veterinarian checks the kitten's overall health, including its heart, eyes, ears, teeth, coat, and general physical condition, to ensure it is healthy and free from any obvious signs of disease.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.Yes, we spend a lot of time socialising our kittens. We handle and play with them every day to help them become friendly and confident around people. They are also litter-trained before going to their new homes. We have a large play area where they can climb, run, and play together.

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.Yes, we carefully select the right homes for our kittens. We may ask questions about buyer's previous experience with cats, whether anyone in the household has allergies, and whether everyone in the household (or roommates, if share accommodation) is happy to welcome a kitten. Our goal is to do our best to ensure that every kitten finds a loving, lifelong home.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.Each kitten comes with a vaccination record book, a general health check report, a pedigree certificate, and a sales contract that complies with our cat club's requirements.

Insurance options

Question. Do you offer pet insurance?
Answer. Yes.Yes, 6 weeks insurance with PETCOVER/KNOSE.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.Yes, we provide ongoing support. Buyers can contact me any time. I will try my best to help them solve the problems.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.Yes definitely. I am happy to assist with re-homing our kitten.
