Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.My stud is fully tested for PK Deficiency (PK-Def), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA-b) (eyesight) Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) - (common heart conditions) Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) - Blood test for this immune system disease Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) - Blood test for this immune system disease My girls are clear through parentage

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.Of course we do, this is the best bit! The kittens are handled from 4 weeks old in their cattery indoors and exposed to things like the vacuum and my child. The dogs also get to put their nose in the doors and they hear them barking in the house. As they get to 8 weeks we start to let them into living areas where they are exposed to other cats and the older dogs. From 10 weeks we start socializing with other people, mainly kids under supervision, and the other dogs and start to harness train in the garden.

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.It is of critical importance to us our kittens go to good homes. We would rather keep the kitten here rather than risk them going to a home where they will be not be safe, healthy and happy. We will ask you some questions about prior cat ownership and how the cat will live - we are not nosy, we just ned reassurance, and if you are a new cat owner we know to give you some more support (we remember being new too)
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.We will provide an extensive kitten pack including guidance on how to help the kitten grow up to be social, healthy, safe and happy. It is a condition of sale that cats must be indoor cats, we will show you our catio set up and other ideas so you can decide how you will manage that. But cats should not be roaming outside for their own safety or local wildlife. Bengals are great pets, but remember they descended from hunters! We will provide 6 months pet insurance for your peace of mind and so you never have to hesitate about seeing a vet in those first few months. New parents should over-react, it's natural as you learn whats normal for your kitten. We want to take the stress out of that for you. We definitely do not expect it, but if for any reason a health issue occurs in the first 6 months that is the result of breeding we will give you the option of rehoming this kitten back with us (we will not re-sell them unless the issue is 100% resolved) and getting an exchange kitten from another litter. This is the 1 in a million risk, but we want new owners to know that is there.

Insurance options

Question. Do you offer pet insurance?
Answer. Yes.Trupanion: 6 months pet insurance. We will provide 6 months pet insurance for your peace of mind and so you never have to hesitate about seeing a vet in those first few months. New parents should over-react, it's natural as you learn whats normal for your kitten. We want to take the stress out of that for you.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.Absolutely! We've seen and done it all. We are here for the life of your kitten. We want to stay in touch, we want you to send us photos. You don't have to, you can ghost us as soon as you pick up the kitten, but it would make us sad.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.Absolutely. We are here for your kittens whole life. Our goal is to ensure your kitten is healthy, happy and safe. If your circumstances change and you recognize you can not provide that we will support you.
