Cloisonné Golden British Shorthair & Longhair Melbourne

British Shorthair Cat Breeder - Yallambie VIC

Hi there - welcome to our little cattery in Melbourne! We're a boutique home-based cattery, registered with ANCATS.

This all began in 2017 with quiet planning, and in 2019, we introduced our very first breeding cat. Our first litter didn't arrive until Christmas 2021 -- yes, we take things slow around here! Everything we do is thoughtful and low-stress, with our cats' well-being always coming first.

Right now, we have five breeding cats. Our stud boys are super chill and mostly uninterested in the drama of life. The girls (queens) have free rein of the house, while the boys hang out in our study or fenced backyard. After giving birth, the mums move into our bedroom to raise their kittens in a calm, cozy space.

Everyone here is on a raw (prey model) diet, with the occasional ZiwiPeak or K9 Natural as a treat. The kittens are raised on raw too, but we're more than happy to help new families transition to kibble if needed.

All kittens go to their new homes desexed (spayed/neutered). There's no fee to join our waitlist, and we only take a deposit once kittens are around 8 weeks old and ready to be picked. If you pass on two litters, you'll just need to rejoin the list.

We don't offer in-person visits at the moment (we've got little humans who are shy around strangers), but we're always happy to do video calls if you'd like to meet the cats or see how they're raised.

If you're after a sweet, social, and well-loved golden British kitten, we'd love to hear from you when the time feels right.

Answer. Yes.We do dna test through orivet. All breeding cats are tested full screen: for color, patterns, longhair/shorthair, blood type, PKD and Autoimmune Lymphoproliferative Syndrome

Preparation & socialisation

Answer. Yes.New litters and pregnant mums live with us in the bedroom until the first vaccination. After that, they greet other females free roaming in the house and our desexed house pets. We provide online help to new families.
