Havanese Dog Breeder - NSW

We are a small kennel breeding for quality not quantity. Our mission is to breed happy, healthy Havanese from Supreme Champion / Champion and / or Imported dogs. Our puppies are raised in our home and are the centre of attention receiving much love and cuddles. They are used to the daily hustle and bustle of a household. They are loved and played with by our grandchildren and are socialised with our cat. They are used to being groomed and washed.

Puppies, except those with show potential, will be registered on the Limited Register with Dogs NSW (not for breeding). Puppies will be vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, and health checked by a vet prior to them leaving us.

Six weeks pet insurance, an extensive puppy pack (valued in excess of $250), an information booklet, a welfare tracker, a week's supply of food and full documentation will be supplied with the puppy..

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.We have all our dogs x-rayed for hips and elbows and have had their scores recorded on the ANKC data base. All our dogs have had their eyes checked by a Canine Opthomologist and their results are recorded on the ANKC data base. All our dogs have had their patellas checked by the vet and have found to be sound. We will be DNA testing all our dogs for parentage in the near future.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.All our puppies are raised in a family environment in our home. They are used to playing with other dogs and our grandchildren. They are used to our cat. They are used to the hustle and bustle and noise of a busy household. They are constantly being picked up and cuddled. They are used to being washed and groomed regularly.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.There is a puppy questionnaire on our website that I ask prospective puppy buyers to complete. I interview prospective buyers before agreeing to sell them a puppy. Puppies are sold on limited register and are not for showing, breeding or export. Puppies come with a health contract and buyers are asked to sign a contract agreeing to have the puppy desexed. Buyers must agree to return the dog to us if they cannot keep it for any reason in the future.
