Heather breeds under the AASHUDNA prefix and is based in Scone in the Upper Hunter region of NSW. Together with her partner Mark, she has been breeding and showing miniature dachshunds for over 14 years and is an active committee member of the Dachshund Club of NSW. 

Heather is a passionate advocate for health testing in the breed, conducting comprehensive DNA screening across all her breeding dogs — including for SDMD, PRA Cord 1, IVDD, patellas, eyes, cardiac, and thyroid. She writes extensively on dachshund health, behaviour, and responsible ownership, covering everything from genetic conditions and veterinary care to training, socialisation, and puppy scam awareness.
