Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.Yes. I do my very best to keep myself educated on the recommended health testing for my breeds. My breeding cats are DNA tested for the relevant hereditary conditions, such as HCM in Maine Coons, and I always check these results carefully before breeding. Maintaining good health in my lines is very important to me.” I am actually venturing into Maine Coons, so this testing is crucial

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.Here is a shorter, gentle, friendly version that still covers everything important: --- My kittens are raised in an enriched, stimulating environment with lots of daily interaction and gentle handling. I make sure each kitten grows in confidence, and if one needs a little extra time, I keep them with me until they’re fully ready. Ensuring a happy, well-matched placement is always my top priority.

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.I am in regular contact with families from the time the kittens are born, and I have several phone conversations to make sure each kitten is a good fit. I trust my instincts, and if something doesn’t feel right, I won’t proceed. My priority is that my kittens go to homes where they won’t be left alone for long periods and will be properly understood and cared for. People are welcome to visit my cattery after their potential kitten has had their 1st vaccination.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes. I provide a clear written contract that protects both parties and outlines my commitment to always take the kitten back if circumstances change. I also offer thorough information on the care and needs of the breed. Most families have already researched the breed, but I still supply helpful pamphlets, books, and reputable websites so they can be well informed.

Insurance options

Question. Do you offer pet insurance?
Answer. Yes.I use Knose pet insurance and they usually give one month free

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.Yes, I only a phone call away, or available through emails, texts with any advice I am able to help them with.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
