Kat's 4 Dogs - Sunshine Coast

Dog & Puppy Training, Puppy School - Noosa QLD

Kat's 4 Dogs is a dog training and behavioural service that specialises in dog psychology and takes a holistic approach to achieving exceptional results.

I am finding that dog training has shifted towards human psychology, which creates confusion and a broken line of communication between dogs and their owners. Treating a dog as though it were a different species, like a human, can be very stressful for the dog. You will see behavioural problems in your dogs if you over-humanise them. The only way your dog can tell you it is stressed, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed is by behaving badly. To achieve the ultimate results in dog training, it is crucial to focus on dog psychology.

Yes, I understand that obedience comes from human psychology, which is fine. However, there is a way to have it all and find a balance that works for both humans and dogs. When people try to change behaviour using obedience inside the home, they will not get sustainable results. You shouldn't have to use food to get your dog to do what it's told. If your dog doesn't listen to you, the bottom line is that it doesn't respect you. All dogs make choices, and choosing not to listen is one of them. If you do not bring obedience and leadership together correctly, you will either plateau or get extremely inconsistent results.

Believe it or not, your dog's behaviour, while it may be frustrating for you and others, is purely a cry for help. No dog wants to act badly, but without the correct guidance and direction from a strong, confident human, your dog can become stuck and confused, leading to poor decisions that ultimately affect everyone.

Kat's 4 Dogs offers a range of dog training and behaviour services on the Sunshine Coast. As every dog is unique, I tailor each new lifestyle program to suit your specific needs and goals.

If you are experiencing behavioural problems with your dog, you need an in-home assessment and behavioural modification session.

The In-Home Puppy Training Set-Up & Behaviour Prevention Visit is a specialised service for puppies aged 8 weeks to 5 months, designed for dedicated owners who want their new puppy to thrive and adapt to a well-established setup.

The Reactive Dog Program helps dogs that are scared, excited or anxious. It focuses first on behaviour modification at home before gradually introducing exposure for you and your dog in real-world situations.

All my dog training sessions are designed around you and your dog, taking your specific environment into account. To me, a truly educated dog lover always ensures their dog's needs are met first. I promise to support you throughout your dog's rehabilitation journey and provide ongoing support along the way.
