Monica came into care after being trapped with her kittens at a local school, where kind children had been feeding her and trying to keep her safe. At the time, she was incredibly scared and reactive after surviving on her own while raising babies outdoors. Since then, Monica has come an incredibly long way -- now a cautious but deeply loving girl who is learning that the world can be safe again.

A beautiful domestic long hair with a soft, fluffy coat and the cutest little white "moustache," Monica is as unique in appearance as she is in personality. She's a chubby, gentle soul with a sensitive nature, carrying both her past and her resilience with quiet grace.

Monica is a very special cat who forms deep, meaningful bonds with her people -- but only once she feels safe. She loves food, gentle company, and especially cuddles done her way. When she trusts you, the connection is truly magical. She will lean in, rub her head into you, and fully melt into the moment, offering a level of affection that feels earned and incredibly rewarding.

She does have some lingering anxiety from her past and needs a home that understands her boundaries. Loud noises, strangers, and unfamiliar animals can overwhelm her, and when she feels scared, she may become reactive -- in these moments, she simply needs space and time to settle. Because of this, Monica is best suited to an adults-only home with a calm, predictable environment. She is selective with other cats and dogs and would do best either as an only pet or with very careful introductions.

Monica loves being brushed gently, spending quiet time with her people, and sitting at the end of the bed watching the world go by. She needs a secure indoor home where she can continue to build her confidence and feel safe enough to fully relax. When Monika does relax, usually in the circle of your arms, she will head butt you and purr and gentle dribble while making biscuits. The feeling is magical, and the love circles back around.

It has taken time, patience, and so much courage for Monica to learn to trust again -- but now that she has, the love she gives is something truly special. To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from our group. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
