The Australian Canine Rehabilitation Association
Animal Allied Health Services - Highett VIC
The Australian Canine Rehabilitation Association (ACRA) was founded by a group of qualified, experienced, and like-minded canine rehabilitation practitioners who share a passion for providing quality rehabilitation for dogs and their owners.
Together, they are committed to supporting the ongoing growth of the profession, advancing continuing education, and building a strong community that connects students with industry leaders -- highlighted through a biannual conference.
ACRA was established in response to two clear needs:
- The lack of access to quality education for canine rehabilitation practitioners in Australia.
- The need to create industry benchmarks and standards that both veterinary professionals and the public can use to assess practitioner qualifications, experience, and insurance.
Our Founder
ACRA was founded by Michelle Monk, a qualified Animal Physiotherapist from Dogs in Motion Canine Rehabilitation. Based in Melbourne, Michelle has been an Animal Physiotherapist for over 25 years and runs a busy multi-disciplinary canine rehabilitation clinic. She also teaches canine rehabilitation courses to physiotherapists, veterinarians, vet nurses, and other canine healthcare practitioners.
Drawing on her years in human healthcare and her deep love for dogs, Michelle created ACRA to ensure that canines receive the same high standards of care available to humans.
