Carlos was taken into CPoM's care after being dumped in the wild for reasons unknown. In foster care he began his journey from a life of survival to one where he could learn to trust. This handsome marbled tabby with a luxurious medium-length coat, a fancy tail, and large golden eyes is a cat of undeniable presence. His personality is intense and complex: he's a playful, agile, and incredibly vocal boy who communicates his every mood, from greedy demands for food to a warning hiss when he's had enough attention. Carlos is a "look and touch kinda guy until he's not," enjoying vigorous head and chin rubs and playful sessions with string toys, but he is very clear about his boundaries.
Carlos needs a specific home to help him continue thriving. He would do best as the only pet in a quiet, adult-only household or with respectful teenagers over 12. He requires a patient, cat-savvy human who won't be offended by his hissy communication and who respects his "hands-off" body policy. A predictable routine, especially with meals, is non-negotiable for this food-motivated boy. While he could potentially live with another pet after a very slow, managed introduction, a solo cat home is strongly preferred to minimise his stress.
Carlos is a cat with a big personality and some unique quirks. He is bossy, moody, and has a mischievous, sneaky streak (be mindful of your bins!). His default method of setting a boundary is a hiss or growl, but he will not escalate if his signals are respected. His best features are his playful nature, his hilarious vocal commentary, and his stunning, wild good looks. Carlos is not a traditional lap cat, but for the right person, earning the trust of this traumatised but healing, now-demanding gentleman will be an incredibly rewarding experience. To adopt from us you'll be required to have minimum an online meet & greet, a remote house check, show photo ID & proof of address, and fill out & sign an adoption contract.
Our animals are fully vet checked, flea treated, wormed, vaccinated and desexed before being advertised. They are evaluated for behavioural traits, fed a high-quality diet, and any known issues are communicated. NOT NEGOTIABLE CONDITIONS: indoor only/restrained to property & must be fed raw or vet prescription wet food.
We will communicate through every step of the process to ensure that the experience is excellent and your feline companion is the right fit. Read the contract for T&Cs for returns.
You must have residency in Australia to adopt from our group. If you are visiting or on a visa, talk to us about fostering instead!
