Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.Our breeding cats have been DNA tested with Orivet and cleared from diseases. We use the recommended British Shorthair DNA test - which provides comprehensive results for the breed.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.Our kittens are raised in our home with our children and family. They are well socialised, have plenty of stimulation and are accustomed to the noises of the everyday household.

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.We invite all families that are considering adding a Bells British Shorthair kitten/cat into their household, to come down and meet us and the kitten/cat to ensure it is the right fit for your home. We recommend an indoor home, with access to a cat run/enclosed outdoor area to keep your precious addition safe.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.We provide lifetime support for your Bells kitten. We also include a Royal Canin Kitten Pack with a few extra goodies.

Insurance options

Question. Do you offer pet insurance?
Answer. Yes.We offer up to 8 weeks complimentary pet insurance with Knose Insurance with your Bells kitten. This policy is activated for the first day that your kitten goes home with you.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.We provide lifetime support for your Bells kitten/cat. We encourage new owners to keep in touch with us and not to hesitate to reach out if we can assist with any query.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.We will happily assist to rehome any Bells kitten should the new family become unable to care for their kitten/cat.
