Siberian Forest Cats are the perfect mix of affection and independence. They will greet you at the door and follow you around 'helping' with all the chores and activities of the household. They are generally happy to fit into any family dynamic and get along well with all members, children and pets.

We are currently the only registered breeder of wonderful Siberian's in the state of Victoria, but we can arrange transport if you live elsewhere. We are very small and have produced 1 beautiful litter in 2024. We are planning on having more kittens in 2025.

Question. Are you a current member of any breed clubs and/or associations?

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).

Yes

I have a Veterinary Pre-preg health test performed. Siberians are genetically robust. I do not do genetic testing or scans. If issues arise with known genetic defects such as HCM or PKD, I will remove these animals from my breeding program.

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?

Yes

My kittens are well socialised. They are played with, handled and interacted daily from birth according the SOP's of the GCCFV. I take my cats out on walks on lead and in cat prams. They regularly come with me to pet shops and parks. They all enjoy human company and play time. They love to be lap cats at nap times. I introduce them as kittens to different sounds, smells and textures. I provide all my cat parent families with a comprehensive booklet on cat care. I offer lifelong support to my cat families. I am associated with Knose Pet Insurance and will provide all future kittens with a 30 day free insurance policy.

Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?

Yes

I provide a comprehensive booklet on cat care which also details the rules/guidelines I am governed by under the GCCFV with regard to refunds and health guarantees. This information is in my booklet. It can also be downloaded from my website.

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?

Yes

The right home is the highest priority. I talk with all my potential kitten families and try to match the personality of the kitten to the family dynamic. The families always meet me kittens to make sure that they have chosen the right kitten for them and the kitten in turn has also chosen them.

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.

Yes

My booklet explains how to introduce kittens to other pets. I talk to the families about how this might work in their home, given the different layout of the house and the personalities of the animals. I am always available to offer advice and guidance with any issues.

Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?

Yes
