I'm a microbreeder registered with FCCV-FCCV11883, Located in the South east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I'm also a breeder member of the UMCFA (United Mainecoon fanciers of Australia)

All breeding cats at Kifayah have completed all health tests (DNA, heart scans and hip scores) with exceptional results, a copy of which will be provided to potential owners.

Our primary focus is to raise healthy Maine coons with exceptional temperaments. We do not have a waitlist as we are a very small cattery and not expecting huge litters.

All potential queries to be made with decent introductions about yourself/family.

Any litters due/kittens expected /kittens available will be posted up on this page and on the Kifayah Maine coon facebook and Instagram page.

Please note , we are a closed cattery , this is to ensure there is no parasites being carried into our cattery, as the health and welfare of our cats is our top priority.

All our Maine coons are raised indoors with our family and well socialised and raised on premium food only.

All kittens will leave for their new pet homes between 13 and 14 weeks of age with the following:

2 x Vet checks
2 x Vaccinations signed off by our Vet
Microchipped
Wormed regularly
Litter trained
Desexed
Pedigree papers, registered with GCCFV.
Kitten pack.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.DNA (HCM, PKD, PKdef and SMA) all clear Felv and Fiv (negative) Heart scans Hip X-rays.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.We develop a rapport with the potential family, and build a relationship before during and after kitten adoption. We have video calls , families are welcome to come meet us face to face at shows we attend.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.Yes we have contracts prior to any deposit is taken, potential families are sent out a contract, once they read and agree, and sign, the next stage is deposit 😉

Insurance options

Question. Do you offer pet insurance?
Answer. No.This is a personal choice and who you are wanting to go with. But it is a contractual agreement, families get pet insurance and maintain one for atleast 2 years.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.We are still in toich with families 4 years post adoption, so yes , we offer support post adoption.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.Depends on the situation, we can assist where we can , but please do not expecting us to take back your cat and house him/ her with us as that is something we cannot and will not support, but will happily post on our page and help you connect with potential families.
