Siamese Cat Breeder - WA

I am a small boutique cattery that breeds Siamese. Our kittens are brought up with the utmost love and care and are born and raised in our family home.

Great pride is taken to ensure that our kittens have lovely natures, are happy, well socialised & healthy. They sleep in our beds and are cuddled from day one to ensure confident and outgoing personalities. Kittens are raised around my child with many visits from her neighbouring friends, they are also exposed to my companion cats without issue.

They have been brought up on a varied diet of high-quality food to ensure optimal health and non fussy eaters. All Kittens come with a special care package to take to their new home.

Kittens are vet checked, vaccinated x 2, microchipped, worm and flea free and litter trained and desexed.

These wonderful kittens are brought up indoors only, unless they have access to an enclosed patio or cat run and I would like the new parents to be responsible for keeping them indoors and out of danger. My breeders have been tested free of FIV and FeLV diseases.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Answer. Yes.All kittens are vet checked several times prior to going to their forever homes. I feed them premium food and a natural diet. I use a premium litter system (OZpet) to ensure a clean environment. I go through Orivet for genetic testing. I work with other breeders utilising their Sires to ensure that the bloodlines are not close together to stop any genetic deformities.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Answer. Yes.I am a hobby breeder and all kittens are born in my bedroom and are brought up in my home until the day they go to their forever homes.

Placement & matching

Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.I question the client as to what they are looking for, what environment they will give the kitten. I meet them prior to committing to sell them a kitten and gauge their demeanour the way they interact with my kittens and factor in body language and other social cues to get a feel for what they are like as a person. I have a degree in Psychology, which I put to use for these situations.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Answer. Yes.All of my kittens are desexed before they go to their forever home, I question the prospective adoptees and let them know what my expectations are, including that my kittens are to be kept strictly indoors. All Kittens leave healthy and have been vet checked to ensure that there are no foreseeable issues. If there did happen to be an issue I would deal with it, but have never had to for the 5 years that I have been breeding. I also give my cleints prior to taking their kitten home a comprehensive care plan outlining their diet, toiletry needs, settling in with other pets and children and offer a lifetime of support for the client to contact me any time for any questions or concerns they may have.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Answer. Yes.I offer my clients a lifetime of support and communicate that to them verbally and in the Kitten care plan package.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Answer. Yes.I have requested that if something happens where they can no longer keep the cat purchased from me, to contact me first.
