Isinheart - Smooth Fox Terrier Breeder - Gympie, QLD

Fox Terrier - Smooth Dog Breeder - Southside, Gympie, Queensland

We are breeders of Fox Terrier Smooth dogs, we show and breed, but most of all we like to share our passion and love for these happy natured, kind and lively natured dogs.

We are also members of the Canine Control Council Queensland. We have worked hard over the years to breed gentle and loving pups with just the right blood lines to suit us. We only breed our girls once a year and only start breeding around 2 years old. We don't have a business but we do have a passion. We do look after a fox terrier if needed for clients.

Once a year we pack up our four legged babies and travel for 3 to 4 months, the dogs love going in the boat, running in the ocean, bathing in the sun and cuddles around the fire at night.

Our standards & practices

Health testing & screening

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? If your breed is prone to health issues, what are they, and what testing practices do you have in place?
Answer. Yes.Dogs Queensland has a very strict set of rules that we all have to or should apply to. I have completed my modules in Principles of Animal Husbandry, Nutrition, Grooming and Behaviour. Our pups are all vet checked and have Parental DNA and the breeding dogs are all fully DNA.

Preparation & socialisation

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?
Answer. Yes.Our pups are socialized with in the family and do a lot of playing in the back yard in the day light hours.

Placement & matching

Question. Is making sure your puppies go to the right homes a priority? How do you ensure they are placed in loving, responsible homes?
Answer. Yes.Well that is a hard one, but you do get vibes from people and I tend to go by my gut, and the information we get from the buyer - and if my gut says no then that is it.
Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?
Answer. Yes.Our pups are vet checked and if there is a problem the buyers are told and we work out a solusion. Buyers do have a small questionnaire and we do encourage buyers to come and visit and have a chat check, out Mum and Dad and pup.

Ongoing support

Question. Do you offer ongoing support?
Answer. Yes.We tell people we are always here to help if we can, we also give buyers a puppy book that I have made up with lots of information on different subjects, such as - food, health, training, history of the breed and so on.
Question. Do you assist the buyer with re-homing an animal that was purchased from you if they are unable to keep it?
Answer. Yes.I offer to re home pups or dogs that way I know where they are going and if they are older I get them desexed if they are not already done.
