Fabelhund aims to produce well tempered, versatile, and conformationally sound German Shepherd Dogs. We breed to produce dogs capable of excelling in a multitude of avenues, including a variety of dog sports, conformation showing, and of course as loving family companions.

And we're not just talk- we hope to lead by example in proving the versatility and functionality of our dogs in both show and sports rings. Most weekends, you'll find us competing with our dogs across NSW either in the show ring, or dog sports such as obedience, lure coursing, rally-obedience, and tricks!

We choose our dogs, and their lines, carefully in order to accomplish this without the need to sacrifice either beauty or brains. Our pedigrees proudly depict multitudes of show and performance titles, clear health panels, and strong looking dogs.

Breeder Questionnaire

Question. Do you health test appropriately (eg hip and elbow X-ray scoring, DNA testing), and understand the genetic issues that may affect your breed? Do you have sensible, sustainable breeding strategies in place to promote the health of your dogs and puppies?

Yes

I submit my dogs for hip/elbow scoring under the GSDCA scheme. They are also cleared of genetic diseases using the Orivet breed profile. I only breed from dogs with below average hip/elbow scores, and with clear/non carrier genetic results.

Question. Do you ensure that your puppies are properly socialised?

Yes

They have a diverse and changing puppy play area, they are taken out to experience the world in a safe manner once they receive first vaccinations.

Question. Do you have any of the following: conditions of sale, health guarantee or warranty, de-sexing agreement, a buyer questionnaire, verbal or personal interview?

Yes

I DNA test puppies through Orivet before they go into their new homes, so guarantee they will be clear of genetic disease. I give a recommendation for time of desexing. I have a buyer questionnaire and phone interview.
