Scottish Fold, Scottish Shorthair Breeder - Cats - NSW : Perfect Pets Profile

I am a registered breeder with the NSWCFA under the prefix of Bluebella. My cattery is small because, first and foremost, my animals are my pets and I breed to enjoy the kittens and bring joy to others when they adopt one of my fur babies.

All my breeding cats have been DNA tested. My local vet has also tested for FeLV (Feline leukaemia virus) and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). All results are negative.

Breeder Questionnaire

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Yes
All cats (sires & queens) are DNA tested by Orivet and also snap tested (blood test by my vet) for FIV/FeLV
Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Yes
They are born and raised in my home with the normal daily household duties
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Yes
All my new homes sign a Bluebella Cattery Bill of Sale and Health Guarantee. All my kittens leave my home already desexed.
Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Yes
By many phone calls/texts/emails. I have also chosen a different kitten that will fit a family better. My first priority is the kitten and I need to know that they will suit that person/family.
Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Yes
I'm always available for support via email/phone/text. Only time I can't answer is when I'm at work but I return calls as soon as I can.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
Yes
This hasn't happened yet but I would help rehome
Question. Do you offer pet insurance?
No
It is up to the individual families to choose if they wish to have pet insurance.
