Bellou British Shorthairs is a boutique British Shorthair cattery located in East Gippsland, Victoria. Our gorgeous cats boast imported and champion lines from all over the world, including Belgium, Czech Republic and France.

We strive to produce high quality and well socialized purebred kittens in a wide variety of colors for pet and show homes alike.
We breed Black, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Cinnamon, Fawn, Red and Cream in Solid, Bicolour, Van, Tortoiseshell and Colourpoint.

Our Kittens are raised in our home with small children and small dogs, well handled and desensitized to a variety of people and household activities.

Breeder Questionnaire

All Queens and Studs at Bellou have at the minimum blood typing, colour trait screening, and have either have Full Genetic Screenings or are clear of inheritable disease via parentage.

Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?

The Kittens of Bellou are raised in our Nursery in our home. They are handled by the whole family including small children, and are desensitized to small dogs.

Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?

The Kittens of Bellou come with a 72 hour Health Guarantee to protect your Kitten until your PetCover Insurance takes effect. The Kittens of Bellou are also guarantied against Hereditary Disease or Illness for their lifetime. All Pet Kittens of Bellou come Desexed/Spayed/Castrated, with their initial 2 vaccinations at a minimum, microchipped and registered with pedigree papers. All Entire Kittens of Bellou come with a Full Genetic Disease Screening, with their initial 2 vaccinations at a minimum, microchipped and registered with pedigree papers.

We screen homes and require that new owners visit kittens wherever possible.

In the event the family is no longer able to care for one of our kittens and a suitable home cannot be found with family or friends, Bellou British Shorthairs can offer placement or assist the owners in finding an approved home.
