Breeder Questionnaire

Question. Do you health test in accordance with the current standards and recommended guidelines for your breed? Can you demonstrate your knowledge of any required DNA or other health related test results concerning your breed (if applicable).
Yes
Every breeding cat is DNA tested through Orivet for all known genetic diseases. All Emberlynne cats and kittens receive regular health checks at our specialist cat vet.
Question. Do you ensure that your kittens are appropriately socialised? Please provide details about how you raise your kittens to ensure that their environmental and social needs are met, that they are suitable as pets. And, do you ensure that the new family understands and is equipped to continue this socialisation?
Yes
Our beautiful kittens are raised in a family home that has other cats and a beagle dog. Our grand children and friends children of all ages are often playing with our babies along with the many adults that visit us.
Question. What written information about the conditions of sale, warranty, and information concerning the care and maintenance of the breed do you provide?
Yes
We expect our kittens will always be kept indoors and if they go outdoors- only in a safe enclosure. We give a health guarantee and also free pet insurance for 6 weeks. All pet homes need to answer a detailed questionnaire and have a follow up phone call if required before they can either adopt a kitten or ho on our wait list. All pet kittens leave us already desexed, twice vaccinated. Microchipped and have had a regular worming schedule. We are here to help with any questions before and after our Emberlynne baby leaves us. We give lifetime support and really enjoy receiving updates from our kitten families. Many have adopted a second kitten from us which has been lovely.
Question. Is ensuring that your kittens go to the right home a high priority? How do you ensure that the kitten will be a good fit, and be well cared for in its new home? Do you have a verbal or personal interview?
Yes
We only allow people to adopt one of our kittens if the answers in our questionnaire and follow up phone calls are suitable. We keep in regular touch with our kitten families as their kitten is growing up here and if there are any concerns we will address them. We have many beautiful families that have already been blessed with one or two of our babies and it’s an honour to place our precious’s kittens into such lovely welcoming homes.
Question. Do you offer ongoing support? For example: Help with introducing a kitten to other animals; help with any health or behavioural problems that might occur.
Yes
We are here for as long as a kitten home needs support. No question is silly or too simple. Every kitten owner needs to feel supported and know they have that support for the life of their cat.
Question. In the long term, do you assist with re-homing a kitten or cat if for some reason the new family are unable to care for it?
